You must teach your children that the ground beneath their feet is the ashes of our grandfathers. So that they will respect the land, tell your children that the earth is rich with the lives of our kin. Teach your children that we have taught our children that the earth is our mother. Whatever befalls the earth befalls the sons of earth. If men spit upon the ground, they spit upon themselves. All things are connected.

Guerilla Poetry
“I wanted to convey that our current very narrow and extreme version of Capitalism, which is based on over-simplified Reaganomics and relies on the wealth of the investment banking class “trickling down” to everyone else instead of investing in free healthcare and free education, which we could do very painlessly, is a historical mistake. And I wanted to convey that Occupy is good and positive and should be listened to and not marginalised.”Posted on March 25, 2012 via with 256 notes

And so, it can be wonderful.

Sometimes, I lie awake at night unable to sleep. And I think about her.
Then a huge smile bursts upon my face as pure happiness and wonder and joy spreads from my toes all the way to the top of my head, as I let the love I share with her seep through my body.
It’s simply wonderful and it makes me feel so fortunate for everything I have and know right now. And most importantly, for her.

olive hearts: response
bluegrassluke said: “what gave you the courage to live just the way you want to”

Probably finding other people out there who were living lives that inspired us. When you see or meet or read about enough people choosing to try to do with their lives what they want to do, and keeping going, even after setbacks, it makes a person think maybe you can do it too.
It helps to have big dreams, but to be able to handle when things don’t go the way you planned for them to. And by big dreams, we don’t mean, like conquering the world or selling records or anything like that. It’s more like dreaming of feeling free, being able to get by with just a little money so we can spend our time doing what we are passionate about, and trying to be appreciative of the beauty around us.
It did take a while of looking and figuring out before we knew what it was we wanted to do with (at least this part) of our lives, though. There were some really sad and confusing times along the way. But conquering fears is really some of the best fun.
